What happens if there is bad weather?
The market is generally rain or shine. If weather becomes dangerous, Market Managers will determine whether to delay, pause, or cancel the market. Vendors should watch for official communication from the market team.

Vendor fees are generally non-refundable, including for weather-related issues or vendor cancellations.
What if I cannot attend a market I signed up for?

No-call/no-show absences may result in a fine and could affect future participation.

Yes. Vendors are required to submit weekly sales reports. This information helps the market track impact, apply for programs, support grant opportunities, and show the value of the market to the community. Individual vendor sales information is kept confidential.
Why does the market have rules?
Market rules help create a safe, professional, organized, and welcoming experience for vendors, customers, volunteers, and community partners. They also help protect the long-term success of the market.

Yes. New vendors are required to complete the Farmington Farmers Market online vendor onboarding course before setting up for the first time. Additional training may be required for vendors participating in food access programs.
Can food vendors accept SNAP, Double Your Dollars, or senior market vouchers?
Some vendors may be eligible to participate in food access programs, depending on the products they sell and program requirements. Vendors must complete any required training before accepting these benefits.
Can I sell food prepared at home?
It depends on what you are selling and current food safety regulations. Vendors are responsible for confirming whether their products are allowed and what permits, labeling, or inspections may be required.
Can I sell items I did not make or grow myself?
The market prioritizes locally grown, locally made, and locally produced items. Resale items may be limited or not accepted, depending on the product and market needs.
Can direct sales or service-based businesses participate?
Some service-based businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations may be accepted depending on space, fit, and market balance. Direct sales businesses are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Can I share a booth with another vendor?
Booth sharing must be approved in advance by Market Managers. Each business may need to complete its own application and meet all vendor requirements.
Can I bring my pet to my booth?
Vendors are allowed to bring pets as long as they do not cause a disturbance or otherwise disturb vendors from selling their products. Service animals are allowed as required by law, but personal pets in vendor booths may be restricted for safety, food handling, or space reasons.
Can I play music or use a speaker at my booth?
No, we provide the music for the market. The market works hard to create a pleasant atmosphere for all vendors and guests.
How should vendors communicate with Market Managers?
Communication is expected and appreciated. Vendors may contact Market Managers by text, email, or phone when they have questions, schedule changes, concerns, or need help.
Who runs the market?
The Farmington Farmers Market is managed by the market team in partnership with the Farmington Chamber. The managers put in many hours to support vendors, organize the market, promote local businesses, and create a strong community experience.
What kind of behavior is expected from vendors?
Vendors are expected to be respectful, professional, prepared, and cooperative with Market Managers, fellow vendors, customers, volunteers, and community partners. Disrespectful behavior may affect future participation.
Can vendors post about the market on social media?
Yes, and vendors are encouraged to promote the market. Posts should be positive, professional, and respectful. Concerns should be brought directly to Market Managers instead of being posted publicly in a negative or harmful way.
How do I know if the market is a good fit for my business?
The market is a great fit for vendors who are ready to show up consistently, communicate well, follow guidelines, promote their business, and help create a welcoming community experience. The strongest vendors see the market as more than a sales booth. They see it as a place to build relationships, grow their customer base, and be part of something meaningful in Farmington.
